Heating is political. Heating is complex. And heating is decisive for Europe’s climate goals.
“Heat Pumps, Renewables & Other Hot Stuff” makes all of that visible – understandable, well-founded, and visually extraordinary.
Between data and debates, city districts and heating networks, tech myths and political narratives, a panorama of Europe’s heat transition unfolds. With illustrations, infographics, and storytelling, the 68-page book invites readers to rediscover the most urgent yet often overlooked dimension of the energy transition.

The Challenge
Europe's Blind Spot in Climate Action
Heating accounts for almost half of Europe's energy consumption, yet its decarbonisation lags behind power and mobility. At the same time, Germany is in the middle of a fierce political debate over heating bans, while at EU level the heat transition simply isn't getting enough attention. This is where the project comes in: a colouring book designed to reach members of parliament, NGOs, and associations, making this complex topic tangible. Unlike conventional materials, it was meant to spark curiosity, stick in people's memory, and position the heat pump as a key technology in an easily understandable way.
